So had the 88 out wheeling, it's a five speed. So no A/T cooler on the radiator. It does still have the condeneer on it, but doesn't have great air flow thru it. The water temperature got very warm, but not overheating. As the needle got about 3/4 up on the gauge, the power steering started acting funny, getting hard to turn and feeling. ?....bubbly??? I know the later models had a cooler, anyone fit a cooler on their Gen 1? 32's, new fluid, belts tight. Anyone else had issues with the power steering?
89 SWB, V-6 5SPD, OME Shocks, 16.5X37's, 2"BL, SR axle, Gen2 brakes, Lincoln w/Superwinch

I've had issues with intermittent leaking, and the mount to the motor is missing a bolt, and so it flexes under heavy load (the pump, that is).
I am not aware of any problems with overheating, although I can't imagine it would be difficult or expensive to add a cooler to the unpressurized return line.
