You still have a very specific problem that was already pointed out but you haven't addressed - you have used the wrong transmission fluid. If you're having a problem with the transmission and you know of something that is definitely wrong, fix it before you move on with further diagnosis. You NEED to have the correct Mitsu Diamond SP transmission fluid in there - the same fluid is sometimes available at Hyundai dealerships for less money than what a Mitsu dealer charges, since Hyundai used Mitsu trannys in some of their vehicles. Wherever you get it, you need to change as much of the fluid as you can - a simple drain and refill will only change about 2/3 of the total fluid volume due to fluid remaining in the torque converter and transmission fluid cooler. There is a process for doing a trans fluid flush that involves removing the return line from the transmission cooler and running the engnine to pump all the old fluid out - I think there was a post here on the forum about how to do it, a search should be able to locate it. That procedure will remove more of the incorrect fluid than just a drain and refill will accomplish.

I already changed the ATF. Or are you saying the FSM is wrong about using an equivalent to SP - and that instead only the Mits brand is acceptable???

It "should" be fine with anything that says it is compatible with DSP-II, but others will disagree with that.

I use one called "world standard" from either Wal Mart or Auto Zone. No problems so far.

I think Maxlife should be fine.

Overview
MaxLife DEX/MERC ATF contains a blend of superior base oils and a unique additive package to help extend the life of transmissions with over 75,000 miles. It is formulated to maximize transmission performance, reduce transmission wear, and improve and maintain smooth shifting longer than conventional fluids. MaxLife DEX/MERC ATF is compatible with new and rebuilt transmissions and will not void new car warranties.

Recommended for use where DEXRON, DEXRON II, III and VI, Toyota T-IV and WS, MERCON«, MERCON« SP and LV, Allison TES 389, Nissan Matic-D, Matic-J and Matic-K, Honda Z-1 (except CVT), Mercedes NAG-1, Mitsubishi Diamond SP-II and SP-III and many others are required." Body Damage is Cool
You should be good with that. I didn't mean to imply that you HAD to use Mitsu fluid, I just hadn't seen any Dextron fluids that met the Diamond SP requirements when I last changed my transmission fluid. I'm glad there's something on the market that does now, because I'm certain it's cheaper than getting the Diamond SP from Mitsu.
