Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have an 89 Raider SWB with a 3.0, and the turn signals don't work. They did for a short period of time two days ago when I bought it, but now nothing. The hazards work, although sometimes they start off as just one side then both. I verified the fuse is working and replaced the EL12 relay under the dash. I hear there are two of them; what is the other one? I just see one.

Any tips? I'd prefer to avoid replacing the turn signal switch itself unless that's the issue.

Its the turn signal relay above the left foot well.

Edit: turn signal flasher as opposed to turn signal relay

Can you give me a part number? That's where the LF12 (NAPA number) was and it didn't help. Just want to make sure I get the right one right away. Thank you so much!

Part number huh? Mmm... I wonder where I would get that. When I replaced my turn signal flasher, all I did was google three prong turn signal flasher for LED lighting and it that was that.

Forgive me, I'm not trying to be ignorant, I work at NAPA and our list shows a two prong and three prong, but under the drivers side dash I only see a two prong. I cannot find the three prong or the harness for it. I would imagine someone has a picture in case I'm missing something?

Not trying to state the obvious, but check to make sure the bulbs are not blown, or wrong amperage. The signal wont click in the dash, or trigger relay to flash if the bulb's in the tail lights amperage draw is too low. Also I believe too high resistance in wiring harness to the signals can cause this as well.

Had this intermittent issue with my 89, but when plugged into a trailer the turn signals were strong and fast. Try slightly higher wattage bulb maybe.

Thank you for the tip. I'll check them out, and if they're good I'll read on how to post pictures and show you what I see under the dash.

I've replaced all the bulbs as the 1157's showed some signs of corrosion and burns near the bottom inside. Nothing changed, it still won't work. All the hazards do, but not the turns. Here is a shot of the underside of my dash. Please tell me if something doesn't look right.

Probably corrosion on terminals inside the hazard switch. If you remove and unplug it, you will see how to gently pry on the side catches and take it apart. Careful, springs and steel balls inside. Clean the contact surfaces with a rubber eraser and use contact grease. All the turn sig wiring goes thru the switch. Known failure point.

Justice, use a "heavy duty" flasher when trailering to get the light flash interval right. The heavier load of thee trailer lights makes the stock flasher work too fast...

Thank you! I'll give that a shot once I'm off work. I appreciate the help!

Does everything in that picture look correct? There are two things unplugged but I see no plug for them.
