My 94 SR does the same thing. I need to do the lash adjusters and seals too. I just did the timing belt and intake manifold gaskets, I don't really want to take all apart again. Let me know what you find out about on the timing belt.

Yep, I just replaced timing belt, h2o pump, etc..... as well.

I really don't want to take TB off either. What a PITA to get back on. Pretty positive it has to come off, since the cam shafts have to be removed to gain access to springs and seals. Unless some one out there has a trick up their sleeve?

If you want to tag team the job, I have room for two Montero's in the shop <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

95 Montero SR

I asked this same question a whi.../catalog/item.asp?...e=&tool=all

as you'll see it reasonably priced and this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP9GJuHO7N8&feature=related

demonstrates very nicely the whole procedure but on a 6G72 engine.

Sorry about the quotes above, I don't know what happened. I believe that A member on here verified that the DNJ were the vitton type and are supposed to be the best. Also I'm pretty sure that to do the seals you will have to remove the cam shafts to get to the seals and the timing belt will have to come off.
