I don't have a wiring diagram but if anyone does, it would be appreciated. Haynes is missing the starter diagram from the manual. http://www.mitsubishilinks.com

Wow, that is a good link, thanks! Funny, doesn't show the '91. The 1989 shows a simple two-pole inhibitor switch instead of a mode-switch with poles for all the gears. I will check out the 1992. I finally got the thing running by cleaning the switch out with alcohol REALLY well and taping it in place in the neutral position. It starts. FWIW, it seems to work better with a full charge batt. It may be a little precarious but it should run until Friday when my switch arrives from NAPA. Thanks for the help guys.

My truck (90) which is the same as yours had the wires going to the starter go bad in the harness. I did the Ford selinoid swap. If you search ford selinoid swap or something of the sort you may find it. May be your issue also.

Well, after replacing the neutral switch (shift position on the side of the shifter) and then the ignition switch (starting solenoid current runs through this), it turned out to be the bloody starter solenoid. Good job you guys that mentioned that first. IT'S ALIVE!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />
