Have any of you fellows changed yours over did you just cap off the lines on the old manual pump or take it off and install a plate and gasket..also what kind of pump do any of you recommend. It is a 1987 dodge raider 2.6 and I have already installed a weber a while back.....do you recommend installing a fuel regulator with the electric pump or not.. thanks for info

I put a carter p4070 on mine. I also put a regulator on it because it was pushing fuel past the float bowl. It still does it though, but the weber carb is pretty tired. You will have a hard time finding a block off plate for it, I searched pretty hard and could not find one. I made one, but the metal was too thin, so it leaked. I ended up putting my old fuel pump back in, but removed the cam follow arm. To be honest, I don't think I notice a difference and if I were to do it over, I think I would just use the stock one.

The starquests have a block off plate stock, about 3-4mm thick, maybe 1/8". You need a fuel regulator set at weber specs for pressure. Webers will take more than a Mikuni, but not much.

Zark where did you end up mounting that carter at?

I mounted mine by the driver side rear tire. Note that sometimes I get a loud hum sound if the rubber hoses touch any metal, so you will want to prepare for that. To be honest, I think I could have done a better job, but I have plans for EFI, so all of this will be removed someday. Here are 2 pics, not great, but will give you an idea. Also, it did get better when I used the rubber isolators between the pump and the frame. I got them from napa. IIRC, I think I found that running my regulator at 3psi worked best for me.

Here is a link to the various pics I took when converting.
