Well its time to finally replace the old 3.0 with a 3.5 in my 91 LS. (Iron Horse) I'd want to keep things as simple as possible and still retain all the dash and accessory functions along with keeping my AT. Things I need to know are which year 3.5 is best suited as far as fit and ECU install. Should I look for a suitable parts truck or get the parts separately from the wrecking yard. Cost is a factor too. I'm in Mesa AZ and I've heard a member of this site is in my area. Thanks for your help.

Thanks to Pa_Jero I got some good info on this swap. Has anyone swapped a later model 3.5 SOHC in a fuel injected Gen 1? Will a Sport engine fit or do I need to stick to the standard Montero.? I'm wondering how many mods I need to make for clearance and fit, and whether the ECU and wiring is a big challenge. I want all the gauges and accessories to work in the truck. Thanks for your help.
