Need a Spot
Howdy all
Posted this in my build thread but didn't get any hits.
I'm trying to add some off road lights the front of my bumper and wondering how to remove the silver plate in the middle of the bumper. It looks like to remove it I have to take the whole bumper off to get at the nuts. Anyone remove this portion or has seen how these come apart?

You don't have to remove the bumper. Remove the front skid plate, and then you can fit your hands up behind the bumper. I believe I used a mini ratchet, 10mm socket to remove the nuts from the 5 studs. The studs break off very easily if there's any rust in there, so be gentle. Also watch out for the little rubber spacers between the two parts. They are easy to lose.

I took that piece off and threw it away, and put 1/4" hardware cloth in to protect the trans cooler.
