hey guys
kinda thinking about adding a third mighty max to the fleet. since i have lowered and slightyly lifted 4wd i was thinking logically 2wd pre runner makes sense.
I am not making a serious pre runner that i would be in the desert jumping just something with a bit more travel and smoother then stock. hit some logging roads or light trails.
From what |I have read there are basically no options for the mighty max except i have read people used slightly stiffer springs to get some extra lift.
thinking something like a 4wd stance and some 235/75/15 tires, tube front bumper and cool roll bar, 4.62 lsd gears and some engine tweaks

How about this? 4x4Wire ad Has a 4.625 LSD installed in the rear now, and I have everything for same in front. Has turbo. Has 4wd. Has stick shift. Has AC. has 3" stainless exhaust and high flow cat. Comes with lots of parts, including some Montero torsion bars. And, I'd make you a better than advertised price deal. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

For long travel IFS use 2WD sport front arms and steering, I THINK you can additionally run early Gen 2(12v 3.0) front torsion bars to make it ride a little higher but super smooth. Measure the lengths to be sure.
Alternatively you could run coilovers up front easily because you'll have no front axles.

2wd MM and D50s use front coils and not torsion bars. Steering linkage is behind the engine cross member. Many were Armstrong steering, too.
