Getting the Wheeling Fever
I am not sure how I got to this point but I recently sold my 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo RS. Love that car but I live on some nasty roads and I am tired of worrying about clearance, weather, and gravel when driving. So....

I bought another Montero! :-)

Picked up a Gen 3 with 125K on the clock. Love the 3.8L motor and 5 speed auto tranny. I don't think it will see the back country but I plan to use it when the roads get nasty. It's at the tire shop getting some studded snow tires on.

Anything I should watch out for? Timing belt was just done along with the water pump.

Body Damage is Cool
Had an 04 and liked the powertrain. I found myself spooked at the location of the rear A/C components. The placement behind the right rear wheel looked vulnerable to any off roading. I never got around to building a cover, or skid plate for it.
Other that that, nice truck!

Getting the Wheeling Fever
This 03 Limited doesn't have the rear ac/heater unit. So I guess I don't have to worry about ruining it. :-)

It would be nice to have the rear ac/heater. I am guessing the wires are already in the truck. Thus I may be able to pull out the parts from a junk yard.
