Getting the Wheeling Fever
So my check engine light came on today. I don't even have a manual for this thing yet but I found some shop manuals on Amazon and was looking at their code scanners. Does anyone have a scanner they can recommend? It doesn't have to be fancy. I just want to be able to read the codes and clear them. I have a 97' SR. Thanks.

Factory service manual can be found at mitsubishilinks.com

I have a cheap obdII scanner I got from ebay its a U581 Haven't used it a lot but seems to do what I need when needed. Tells what a code is rather then just the P0... has live data and freeze frame functions as well.

I'm pretty sure Napa in town will check it for free. As for manuals, you should check out mitsubishilinks.com. Most of the FSM's are up there.

I will check out mitsubishilinks but as far a NAPA is concerned, as much as I like them, I would rather read the code in my driveway or wherever I notice the light come on but that is a great idea for the time being. By the way, how on earth do I turn on the high beams on this thing? The switch is not on the headlight stock. Thanks again.

On my '95 SR you pull the stalk toward you to toggle between high and low beams.

Body Damage is Cool
I use a bluetooth code reader that I picked up off Amazon for like $20. Interface with an android devise (my phone or tablet) with the App: Torque. Reads and clears.

I can make them toggle but the highs won't stay on. Normally you push the stock forward and you get high beams. What do you do to keep your high beams on? Thanks.
