Help! Need Gen I vent windows. #1076549 01/30/15 05:04 AM

My son in Seattle had his 91 LWB Gen I broken into and the A.H. that did it warped the frame of the drivers side vent window trying to lever it open and then gave up and smashed the passenger side glass to open the door. Nothing serious was stolen- he doesn't leave valuables in the parked Monty.

So, if there is anyone parting out a GEN I Monty or Raider, I would like to buy both vent windows including the frames and hinges. Give me a PM!

I did end up selling our 97 Monty on Ebay- a very nice restorer of classic Porsches in Pennsylvania ended up buying it and paying to have it shipped to him from NV. He loves the GEN II Monty! I've kept the 90 MT LWB as our indestructible workhorse. For our camping/exploration backcountry travels in the West we bought a MT 2014 Xterra Pro 4X. It's no Monty in terms of build quality, but I must confess I've already had it in stock form high on the Rocky Gap trail between the Red Rocks and Pahrump far beyond where I could have taken the 97 LWB Monty. We'll see how it holds out long term... Meanwhile, the 91 is still running!

Cheers!

NVMonty

I also have a pair ready to ship - but couldn't do it until Monday as well. Russell is closer (and cheaper!) lol

Unless you want to battle the nut that locks the vent window in place at the bottom, which may/may not require you to cut into your inner door metal, take the whole track out that runs along the back side and down into the door. It's a little trick I recently learned from haztoys.

My parts will be shipped at the assembly level, not just the glass. For general information.... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />
