Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
Is there any way to wire a 97 Montero for trailor lights using just a 4 wire system? I'm preplexed. Any vehicle with separate blinkers will have this problem. I need another wire and I'll be damned if I can figure out how to get brakes, running lights and blinkers active on only 2 wires. I tried jumpers but that blew my tail light bulbs.

You need this: Manufactured by Hopkins, it's called a Hoppy 46255 Power Taillight Converter

FYI, I just installed a 7-way RV connector with a brake controller. It requires some custom wiring and the use of the controller mentioned above, but is doable. It took a few days, but I can now power trailer brakes and recharge an rv battery if needed.

A diagram would be awesome if possible! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
