Hey folks, I've lurked for a few days and decided to join because there seems to be an active community with good info here smile

I have a '90 Montero LWB and want to spruce up a few things on it...

1) I guess I have the basest base model, as I don't have the neato bandito 3 gauge pod on the dash. If I found one to install, is the wiring already there to plug & play or did Mitsu not do this at the factory? Would I need to wire it, and for that matter carve up the dash too? Is this even worth it?

2) My steering wheel has some chunks bitten out of it and instead of using some ugly wrapper from Autozone, I would like to just replace it with something OEM or close. Does anyone have a list of what might be a direct swap? I know of the Mighty Max 1st gen and Eclipse steering wheels but that's it. Also if anyone had a decent clean one for sale in baby poo brown/tan or black I'll take it off your hands. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

3) The surround on my stereo faceplate is smashed and long gone - has anyone used this kit on Amazon with success?

Amazon Montero stereo install plastic doohickey

Thanks everybody.

Call Crest Truck Parts in Cartersville, Ga. 800-424-2065. He has a 1989 4 door sitting there that has some really nice stuff left on it. I got a front bumper bracket off it last week. He will ship what you need.
