In my experience, Mobil 1 that says "for LSD units" will chatter. My testing showed that Redline GL5 with LSD additive did not. Did the rear diff today with the Redline 75w90 GL-5. No chatter/shudder. Will do the front and transfer case as well with proper Redline. Thanks for the help.

Do you guys have the same recommendation for an 87 with open diffs? And what about the transfer case?

If it's Redline for transfer it's MT-90 GL-4 75w90 or if the 87 recommends only a 75w85 it's MT-85 GL-4.

Finished the front diff (GL-5) and transfer case (GL-4), all with Redline.
I forgot what great oil Redline is. The transfer case is quieter and shifts very smooth. And as mentioned no rear diff LSD chatter.
Redline is expensive but the gear oil is in there for 30K. Easy to get on Amazon. I'll still stick with Mobil1 for engine oil.
