Hello everyone, sorry if this may be a repeat or a common question (new to the forum), but I don't think I ran across the information I needed in the tech manuals. My situation is: My power steering pump and attached reservoir have a leak, there seems to be some kind of bracket or brace missing (it is put together with tie ties) from the top. Is there a better pump to put in it's place (a modification) from a similar vehicle, if not where exactly besides the dealer would the bracket or brace be found. Sorry, I was not able to find a good visual to show me what is supposed to hold these two things together. But, I know there are probably a few ingenious people who have run across this problem and figured out a fix or a better solution than the original set up. Thank you for your time and help.... Have you looked at www.car-part.com ? You didn't post what model, year or engine you have. You will need that information to do a search on car-part.com.

Sorry, 1987 Dodge Raider, 2.6 engine. All I can find is photos of the power steering pump without the reservoir. I need to be able to see the pump and reservoir from the top, so that I can see the bracket, pictures of what holds the reservoir to the pump itself would be nice. There is a leak, but I believe it is a bad o ring where the hose connects to the pump.

Have you checked http://www.mitsubishilinks.com/ ? Look for the section "Parts Catalogs" then "Raider_partscatalog_1989". This is a scanned copy of the 1989 parts catalog. See chapter 19-Power Steering. It shows all the brackets and braces for both the 4 cyl and 6 cyl engines. I scanned the paper catalog about 15 years ago. It's available for anyone. You may want to donate to http://www.mitsubishilinks.com/ for hosting it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

So my 87 Raider had a reservoir bolted to the back of the pump that was connected via a little hose that bolts on the side of the pump. I have removed that since then. I have put on a pump and reservoir from a 89 Mighty Max 2.6. Since I don't have A/C I made a bracket and bolted the reservoir to the side of the head near the valve cover. I can try to get pics in the next day or two. I did this cause i didn't like have the reservoir so low. Made it hard to fill.

Thanks, my problem is I have AC, I think I have seen the power steering up you speak of. Pictures would be nice, maybe I can do something similar. I don't want to take it apart until I pass inspection. But I will have to do something about it eventually.
