Need a Spot
Hello! I am new to the forum. Posted a shout out but i'm going to try it this way:
I just bought a gen 1 monty and well... Love it. Besides the vbelt breaking on the way home on a 600 mile trip taking out the power stearing pump bearing there is not much wrong with it.
I am OCD (or just really picky) so the time has come to fix it up properly
First on the agenda is seat covers... On their way.
Next the rear view mirrors. This is where I need your help. They are loose and even when they hold still for 30 secs they are useless.
Does anybody have a good aftermarket suggestion to replace them with?
I thought a early 90's Ford f150 mirror.
I saw a build online where the owner got some mirrors from the phillipines. They look excellent but..... No link to how he obtained them or a way to contact the builder.
Next will be a homebuild roof rack (will post pictures) and a brush guard - is goimg to end up being a home modification of an existing one (will also post pics)
Thanks to all of you and the good posts that made me feel confident in buying this Montero.

If you are looking for door mount and referencing F150, take a look at the aftermarket Jeep offerings. jC Whitney may be a source to review.

I assume you mean the door mirrors. The gen 1 comes with at least 2 style's of mirror that mount differently. One has two bolts and the other has four. Not sure there are any aftermarket options. I see mirrors for sale on facebook often though. If you have facebook I suggest you join the Mitsubishi Montero USA Garage Sale and Mitsubishi Monteros USA groups.

Excellent! Thank you for the input. I have the 4 bolts with the rust (1 step foreward 2 steps back) the good part about fixing the rust is that i can create a new bolt pattern. JCWhitney it is!
I'll look into facebook also as I am almost certain this won't be the last parts i need.
Happy 4 wheeling

Getting the Wheeling Fever
If you have the smaller style, try tightening the bolts inside it first - stiffened mine right up and they work fine now.

Body Damage is Cool
John eric is right. The two bolt smaller ones adjust on the inside. Take them off, you'll see the screws to adjust it. The ones that resembles truck mirrors, held on by 4 bolts, has two bolts by the pivot, that will tighten it up.
