Body Damage is Cool
Hey guys,
I was searching to replace the Rancho 5000 shocks on my 90 LWB. To my surprise only the rear ones RS5203 are available and couldn't find any for the front.

I reached out to Rancho and they said that they don't offer the ones for the front anymore. Do you guys think that the GEN II will fit in the front?

If not I will have to go to something else, Pro Comps, maybe KYBs.

When I did my beefing of my first one, I found out that the shock for a 85 S10 2x fit.

S10 2x Rancho RS5222 specs.
Compressed Length: 9.050
Extended Length: 13.810
Travel Length: 4.760
Lower Mounting Code: XP11
Upper Mounting Code: S4

Stock Monroe for a Gen I/ 2xS10 (NAPA 94001)
Compressed Length: 8.625
Extended Length: 13.375
Travel Length: 4.75
Lower Mounting Code: XP11
Upper Mounting Code: S4

Stock KYB shock for a Gen I/ 2xS10KG5603A
Compressed Length: 8.86
Extended Length: 13.39
Travel Length: 4.331
Lower Mounting Code: E3 (same as the XP11)
Upper Mounting Code: S4

So even shock manufacturers vary with the stock specs. I used the load adjusting 58260 on the front and with my T-bars cranked I never had issues. Less bounce offroad but more effort to get them in. Food for thought on this
