just recently picked up a 1987 dodge raider in fair shape but dont like the original 2.6 engine. i have found a donor vehicle a 1987 Toyota pickup with a 22re fuel injected with a 5spd transmission
i was curious how easy it would be to switch out the 2

Cutting torch and a stick welder. Do you have the Toy trans and transfer case? Isn't the front shaft on wrong side though?

Toasty did a conversion using the 2.4L Mitsu FI engine. Will be easier than a Toyota swap.

Rich is doing a 5.3L Chevy engine swap in his '89 Raider.

Others have the Starion 2.6L turbo.

That is the same engine as the Montero had in it in the later models, the 6G72. It can be done. With a Montero donor vehicle, that isn't too bad of a swap. Weld in motor mounts, throw the wiring harness in, fuel pump for efi, 90% of the work is done.
