Hey crew, I'm pretty sure the T-case chain in my gen 1 has slipped on me a time or three now. At first I thought it was a cv joint but now I'm pretty sure it's the chain.
I looked around the net and didn't find a source for a new chain. Anybody know a source or a cross reference part number?
Should I change the sprockets too?
Any other tips tricks or advice before I pull out the T-case and open it up?
As always much thanks & appreciation. TresMon

Never hear about issues with the transfer case. Probly going to suck it up at the dealer or get a used transfer case.

Mitsubishiparts.net lists the transfer case new. Sit down for this; $3,000. But no chain or sprocket. Only seals.

Thanks for responding fellas.Think it could be worn bearings thats letting it slip?
Any other known components in the driveline that can make popping noises and slip?
Do the cv axle splines ever slip in the diff?

It's a chain, on sprockets. For it to slip, it must be stretched WAY out, or the sprockets are fried. It's not too hard to get at to see. Take off the driveshafts, and unbolt the rear outer cover, and the chain and sprockets are all right there.

The t-case bearings are shot and the chain is stretched. Anybody know a source for a chain?? Anybody have a T-Case for a Raider manual tranny that can be bought?

I looked in the FSM for a spec on the t-case chain deflection/slack spec. I found none listed. Did I miss it? Anyone know this spec?
Also a Transmission parts supply house told me all the late 80's era D50 trucks have the KM100 T-case bolted to their(different from Raider) tranny, same as the Raider has the KM100 bolted to the KM145. Can anyone confirm this true for me? Thanks!
