I rebuilt my 3.5L (1998) and can't remember where the braided ground strap goes. I looked around and one post mentioned running from where the ground wire connects at the A/C compressor up to the block. Any ideas if this is correct? Repair manual is no help.

I just had my AC compressor & bracket off twice in the last week. I've got 2 ground straps on the lower right bolt of the AC compressor bracket. 97 3.5L

I thought they were the same as the Sport. Two ground straps from the back of the engine to the firewall. - from the post to the fender, fender to the frame, frame to the block behind the compressor. That makes sense. I had taken a guess and connected it to the motor mount on the frame side (block to body was good to go). Sounds like that may work. I'll double check to see if there is another connection point. That may also solve the extra bolt question I have.

I'll check and see if I have the '98 Montero FSMs when I get home tonight and take a quick look at the engine harness when I get home tonight. Edward
