I run a JVC KD-LH1000 and love it. You have full control with bandwidths and frequencis for all ranges, fully controlable sub outs, and a bad ass display.
Just my $.02 though

My son and I were out looking at headunits for his Saturn yesterday and I really liked the Alpine line. He's looking to stay in a tight budget and the Alpine CDM7874 is $199 (cheaper on ebay) and has some great features for the price. There weren't too many other units we saw that were comparable in that price range.

Try Crutchfields website. There's a lot of great info on what will fit your vehicle and the installation kit you'll need.

I love my pioneer DEH-P9200 because I can change the settings on my sub just from the head unit. Such as turn it off, have lots to small amount of bass and the controls look easier unlike the alpines which to me arent easy to read. So if I was going to get another one I would upgrade to the P9300. You can get one for like $304 on Ebay. and find the specs on it Here where it says msrp=$800

Stay away from SONY I have had 2 of their units and they are horrible about skipping even if you have a very minor scratch on the CD. I run Panisonic now; a little pricey but well worth the money.

I have the Sony M650, and it has never skipped on me once.
Even off road on washboard stuff.

It's been an excellent deck, and I have no complaints with it.
Although I will be getting the Sony MP70 later which is a top rated MP3 deck too.

I want the MP70 since I have gigs of raw MP3s.
