Email me if you are interested. I will be in the wife's Montero Sport, leaving the Jeep at home, so those of you that went with me about 1 or 2 years ago, I won't leave or take you on some really hard things like last time.

So, email me: CerOfLands@aol.com if you are interested in going. Sorry for the last minute, but was last minute decision.

Thanks for inviting people over here.

We have a rule on the Isuzu board that all Trailride Notices are to be posted to the Trailrides Planning Forum.

I will move it there.

Thanks, each forum is a bit different I guess. Also, the Isuzu forum didn't used to move things, but then again I only post there for trail rides.

So, I know it is last minute, but who's up for it?? It's only 1.5hours from Dallas, 35 minutes from Tyler or Longview, about 1hour from Louisiana, not too far from Texarkana or Oklahoma....

I'd love to make it, seeing as I've installed a lift and 285's since the last time I was out there. (You remember me collecting fire wood with the underside of my BONE-stock Trooper?) But, I've got too much going on already this weekend.

Hope you have a good time, wish I could be there.

I'll get there around 9a.m. I plan on staying at our Lake House Friday night outside of Tyler, on Lake Palestine.

A gentleman with a stock Montero wants to go as well, so we should end up with a nice little group.

A few Isuzus

A few Monteros or Montero Sports

A stock Rubicon TJ Wrangler

Potentially a MONSTER Grand Cherokee on 37" tires

We are going to meet at the ORV park at 9a.m.

Email me if you are for sure going or not with your vehicle details, color of vehicle, etc, so I know when to head 'em up and move 'em out once at Gilmer. If you are running late, all trails eventually lead up back to the top. There is a <> or a <><> diamond trail we'll start on for the "new guys" who've never been out before. It starts RIGHT by the gate of the property as you enter it is to your left, if you are exiting the property, it is to your right, behind the "gate house" where you register and check in.

Here is an email I sent out to everyone who I had emails addresses for:

Check out this website. It is a link to Barnwell Mountain ORV Park in Gilmer, TX where we'll be going.

http://www.texasmotorizedtrails.com/ohvareas/barnwell/index.html

There is a day use fee of $15 and they havef a taco bell, KFC down in town and numerous gas stations; which is just about 4 miles away. They have catered BBQ and other short order grill kinda things on-site at the property. We usually do a BBQ beef sandwich, chips, and drink for about $5 there at the property. Others have packed their lunch in a cooler.

Bring at LEAST one gallon of water to drink. I will bring an icechest with my water in it. It will be hot and you will probably sweat. Dress comfortably. I'll be in shorts of some sort and just a t-shirt. No slacks or jeans for me, or polo knit or button down shirts! Who knows, we might have to crawl underneath someone's rig to help them fix something.

I've never been in a group that had anything broken on the trail. One guy's fuel pump went out on him that we changed on the trail, took a total of 4 hours, but that was just a fluke deal on a Jeep with 150,000 miles. You don't need to bring any automotive fluids as there are parts stores down in town should you need anything like that.

DIRECTIONS: At this point I think we will meet there around 9a.m. Leaving from Garland it should take you at the most 1 hour and 45 minutes. If you want to coordinate meeting and caravaning out there, by all means, use "REPLY TO ALL." Usually when caravaning we meet someplace over on I635 close to the Oats/Galloway exit. The best way to get to Gilmer is by taking HWY 80 and getting on I-20, don't try to take HWY 80 the entire way. Then most take HWY 271 on into Gilmer.

There will be a Chevron Gas Station on your left, they have air/water/gas. Then you should come to a light, at either that light or one of the very next ones, you will make a RIGHT. Barnwell Mountain will be about 4 miles on this road. The directions to the property located on the link above are great directions from the town of Gilmer. If you've gone past the Taco bell by more than 100 yards, you've probably gone too far.

If you guys could reply back to me your vehicle type and any modifications I'd appreciate it, just so I know what I'm getting myself into as a probable "Trail Leader." =P

If you have other questions, please ask!

'01 Montero Sport XLS 4WD, 2" suspension Lift and 32" A/T tires

List of Gear to Bring:
1) WATER to drink
2) GMRS/FRS/CB Radio (I don't have my CB with me but will have a GMRS/FRS Radio
3) Full size spare
4) Strap if you've got one, I'll have mine but it is always fun and nice to have others
5) A tow point on your rig, Class III Hitch or tow hooks
6) Good pair of comfortable shoes
7) Good Attitude (This is only for Bob as he gets stuck a lot and likes to get mad)
8) Seeings how we won't be on any <><><><><> (5 Diamond) trails and VERY VERY VERY few 4 diamond if at all, I'm not concerned about breakage, though it can happen, to even the most built rigs. Remember, WHEN IN DOUBT, DON"T or ASK!!
9) A Camera, for sharing pictures later on to prove to the Jeep guys that we had to pull a Wrangler Rubicon TJ around the trails with us.

There is no dumb question when learning, and I know we have a few nOOb's in the group. From what I know of the individual guys going, it will be the PERFECT time to learn and just have a good time.
