Maybe someone here can help me out. I'm looking for an article posted 2-3 years ago, about a trail ride in DV. Cant seem to find it now, and cant remember the posters name, but he posted very nice pics. He drove a Montero. Hope this article isnt lost due to its age.

Are you using the search feature to find it? I can help with that if you want. I did a search for DV older than 2 years and newer than 7 years and numerous DV trips showed up.

The Google Custom Search at the top of the page will display all the articles on 4x4wire that reference Death Valley.

IF what you want is not there, check deathvalley.com for info about Death Valley and the surrounding area.

If it was a Montero owner and they kept their images on Montypics.com, then the images could have been lost in the past year when the montypics server died and the owner of the site wasn't keeping a valid backup.

If so, the post is probably still there and just not the pics any longer so you just didn't recognize it. Same thing could have happened if they dropped their picture website or their album went inactive.

Yes, I lost a ton of pics because of the incident at Montypics. I still have the pictures on my drive but don't plan to upload hundreds of images them all unless someone's looking for something specific.

I actually revisited the thread a few months ago. Not sure how I found it(maybe remembered the poster's name). So it was still active then. It was a Death Valley trail ride that quite a few members here took part in. I remember one pic in particular, of a flyby of a certain type of military aircraft that apparently zoomed by a little too close for comfort. smile It was a pretty long thread... 3 parts if I remember correctly.

I appreciate the help guys. I mean its no real biggie. Just that when I cant find something, I just become more and more determined.

If there was a military plane fly-by, it might have been referenced as Golar Wash, Panamint Mtns, Pleasant Canyon, or Serles Valley.

Death Valley is a national park and is restricted airspace for plane overflights below a certain altitude.

Pleasant Canyon does have a short section that is within Death Valley NP. Golar Wash does cross from Searles Valley into DVNP. Panamint Mtns is the western side of Death Valley.

It could have been Panamint Valley Days event as there was a thread about it last November.
