Getting the Wheeling Fever
Ok so I am having trouble figuring out how the locker actually plays into a R&P change. I have a 99 with winter package and 4.27 gears. Do I need to actually change out the R&P from a Montero Sport with 4.9 or can I just change the third member?

As for the front, can I just use the axle housing? I'm trying to avoid buying specialty tools at the moment if at all possible.

Sorry if this question seems dumb to more advanced people but I've been searching for a while and can't find the details, and the ASA part numbers are the same with the exception of some shims.

Thanks

Ok right after I posted this I happened upon http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota-secti...ry-air-locker-into-a-genii-monteropajero

It looks like for the rear, keeping the locker and changing to 4.9, I would need to change out the R&P and wouldn't just be able to change the third member. Makes sense.

As for the front, should I just man up and change out the R&P there too? I've just never done one before and don't have the gauges etc.
