Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a second Gen1 (LWB, 3.0L, like my first) which I've got running for my son to drive. However the idle is wacky (too high, then goes hunting at various times).

We know that it runs well with a good TB, as I've taken the one off of my vehicle and put it on there. Then it idles @750, right where you want it. I've tested the IAC as well and it measures out just fine on the ohmmeter so I'm pretty sure it's just the TB.

For good measure I even have a spare TB that I pulled off of a vehicle in a local salvage yard. But no luck; get the same high/flaky idle out of that one. So a couple of questions:

1. Does anyone have a known-good TB that they're looking to part with?
2. Does anyone know of a rebuilder that can bench test and rebuild these things?

I'm not really finding any for sale other than looking at more from the salvage yards (e.g. car-part.com). I'm not sure what my chances of landing a good one from there is likely to be.

Any other suggestions as to how to track one down or fix one that I've got in hand?

Thanks everyone. Enjoy the ride; I know that I sure do in mine!

steve

Need a Spot
I have the same issues (as do many I assume) Steve at throttlebodys.com will rebuild the 6G TBs. Pretty reasonable price. However, I don't know if it will fix your issues since I think it's more an issue of the FIAV that is problematic and there's no rebuilding that from what I can tell. That's the only reason I haven't spent the 150 bucks or whatever it was.

I have an 89 LS parts car that was running in May, prior to throwing a rod. I'm aware of other differences between 89 and 90/91, is this part same?
