I have a new to me 1991 Montero LS 4-door. I have only owned 1970 and older "fun" cars before this car so I am not familiar with fuel injection systems, ECU's etc. I am having a problem with my car cutting out/dying at random times so I am trying to diagnose the problem by making my first attempt at checking the ECU for an error code using my voltmeter, I have read through the OEM service manual as well as good threads on this site so I think I am on the right track to make my first ECU check/diagnosis. I have located my self diagnosis connector (underneath my glove box). When compared to the picture/diagram in the service manual, the connector on my car appears to be installed "upside down" relative to the diagram shown in the manual, which is fine, I just want to make sure that I am connecting my positive and negative voltmeter wires to the correct spots on the ECU connector. Attached is a picture of how I believe my voltmeter should be connected - did I connect it correctly? I will follow up with my diagnosis results to let you know what I came up with...and probably ask more questions. Thanks. Jeff
