I have an 87 Raider, 2.6 auto. The speedo and tach donÔÇÖt work, the fuel gauge only goes to 3/4, and the temp gauge quickly rises to the top once I start the engine. IÔÇÖve replaced the fuse and pulled the cluster and looked carefully at the connections and circuit board. Nothing appears amiss. Any ideas?

I think you'll just have to replace those. They're not user serviceable. I've gone through 4 fuel/temp gauges recently until I found one where both sides worked. My speedometer is 5 MPH off but I'll take that...could be other things, too, that I don't care to troubleshoot.

1. Speedo is mechanical, not electric
2. Fuel gauge is dependent upon the signal from the fuel level sender...that is likely corroded, common problem after all these years
3. If the temp gauge is rising quickly, you could also have an issue with the temp sensor or blown head gasket
4. The tach...check your ignition coil connections

It will behoove you to look up and download the factory service manual (FSM) from mitsubishilinks.com and review the troubleshooting portions.

If all else fails with the FSM review and you determine that you do indeed have a defective gauge cluster, look me up. I have a few clusters for sale.

Cheers,
Russell
