I had the stock engine in my SR (6G72 SOHC) rebuilt a few years ago and it has just never been right. I've had a noisy rotating assemble from the begining and it's getting worse.

I'm considering and engine swap to a later model 6G74 24v DOHC. The extra power would be nice. I really like this truck, but? I would appreciate someone laying out a simple list of changes I will need to make. Examples:

Will the 6G74 mate to my existing bell housing and torque converter.
I assume I will need the ECU, an engine complete with accessories and the engine harness from the donor car.
I'm not looking for all the details. A list of the major components needed would be very helpful in deciding whether this is worth the effort.
