 Rear defroster timer removal.

I have my rear window defroster unhooked, want to use that power wire for a small LED light so I can see to hook up a trailer or extra backup light. But I take it there is a timer on this circuit, where exactly is that located and can I just bypass it ? The light is a lower power than the defroster so I'm good on that.
I take it, it's under the dash on the passenger side.
91 (Gen1) Monty, 3.0L V6, Auto 4 Door.

88 Montero has no timer.
My later gen1 books found a new home and never came back.
Gen 2
The timer allows 9-11 minutes of operation, Might be a logical amount of time to hook up?
So no true answer for your need but if it has a timer it might not ruin the evening.

I hooked the light up just to see that it worked, would be nice if it doesn't have a timer. But 10 minutes wouldn't be so bad, I'll test it and see if it even has one.
I will end up running a heavy gauge power wire to the back at some point for a power station, will tie into that then anyways.
