Just wanted to let ya know that my 4runner just had a small evap leak problem. Code P0442.

I know this is an isolated problem but I just wanted to give ya guys a heads up for those who might experience the same problem (hope not).

Symptom:
Check Engine Light

OBDII Code: P0442
Error Code: Evap Leak (small)
Problem: Leak found in intake plenum area for the fuel. Not sure exactly where as they were vague on their description over the phone. When the part comes in, I'll have the part number so I'll know exactly what the problem was. I recall them telling me some valve problem... not sure... blah...

Like I said, this is probably an isolated problem and figure most everyone will not experience this. If ya do, atleast you have a general idea what the problem can be...

Just curious.... How did you get the code? Did you bring it to Toyota and they got it for you?

yeah unfortunately I don't have access to a obdII scan tool <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" /> I'm looking into one though but I really don't want to be forking out 100 bucks for em... (or was it 80?) anyway the stealer took a quick look to see what code error was coming out of the ecu..

They're pretty cool about telling me, now i just gotta wait for them to get the part to replace...

it's all under warranty so i have no worries <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
