Has anyone done a Weber carb conversion on the older ('86) 2.3l? I need a new carburetor and since the Weber costs about the same as a remanufactured (Hitachi?) I was considering the kit available from Indy4x or Calmini. I also want to ditch the snorkel and use the "open style" K&N cleaner. Specifically, how do you deal with the TCAC(Thermostatically Controlled Air Cleaner) system? Is there any way to just scrap it? If not, do these kits address the TCAC hookups?

Anybody's thoughts on these issues would be appreciated!

Emissions not an issue for me.

Thanks

I did the Weber swap on my old '87 trooper. Look on the weber site before you buy one. I got mine from Calmini and found I could have saved well over $100 by going to weber's website. The swap was pretty simple- adjusting it and figuring out the new vacuum hose scheme were my biggest problems.
Good Luck
Mike
