You guys are not going to believe this sh!t.
Yesterday I was at a gas station, and couldn't help but notice one of those new GMC trucks with the Duramax (Isuzu!!) V-8 badges, AND what appeared to be a 4 inch ![[Linked Image]](http://www.outdoorwire.com/ubb/images/icons/shocked.gif) exhaust pipe out the back.
So I asked the guy about how he liked his truck, and this is what he told me.
His truck was prototyped for a Billy-Dog Turbo upgrade and propane conversion kit. He showed me the Dynometer readout he had in his glovebox.
418 ![[Linked Image]](http://www.outdoorwire.com/ubb/images/icons/shocked.gif) AT THE WHEEL HORSEPOWER!!!
823 ![[Linked Image]](http://www.outdoorwire.com/ubb/images/icons/shocked.gif) POIND FEET OF TORQUE!!!
While pulling a trailer with four snowmobiles and averaging 85 mph, he said he gets around 30 Freakin Miles to the gallon!!!
Now you figure these are numbers that are being measured from the wheels, then the engine has to be making around 500 HP, and close to 1000 pound ft of touque at the crank!!!!!!
He also said that he had the gov reset for unlimited top speed, but when he tried toping it out, he lost his nerve after 135 mph ![[Linked Image]](http://www.outdoorwire.com/ubb/images/icons/cool.gif) !!! And he said it was still pulling strong...
Geez, one of you Trooper guys seriously need to think about a hybrid project!!
Travis

The new Trooper may be built at SIA, also the next gen Rodeo and Rodeo Sport will be Envoy clones...
sorry for the bad news...
-mike
------------------
'97 Rodeo -> '00 Trooper LS
ECB Nudge Bar, Hella 4000s Eurobeam w/City Light, Hidden Hitch, Hella Triple Trumpet Horns, OME Rear Springs, Rancho 9000 Shocks, Tinted Front Windows
'88 Subaru XT6
'88 Mazda MX6
http://isuzu-suvs.com

One thing that no one here commented on from the article about the Isuzu downsizing was the line that said that Isuzu was going from 7 platforms to 3. Since we know the trucks are profitable, that doesn't leave a lot of platforms for other vehicles.
