Getting the Wheeling Fever
Any suggestions on fixing a automatic's Tranny Cooling Line Leak...

The flare fitting joining the Tranny cooling line to the Transmission ( the one with some type of sensor attached) is leaking. It was still tight... I guess the flare must have worn due to vibrations?? It appears in good condition.

I will cut out the bad flare out and reflare the existing tube. I just hope I have enough room.

Anyone have experience with this?

This is the first time I have ever seen such a connection fail. Broken lines Yes, Leaking flare connections No.

or should I just Replace Both Lines to be safe... ~130,000 mi.

Replace both lines. Check the old lines where they run through the brackets. They may be thin there also. Check the tranny mount and both engine mounts. I am in the middle of a new engine and tranny project. I found that 75% of my tranny mount has delaminated from the metal plate and I pulled my engine out without unbolting the mounts, they were that bad. Good Luck.

You should be able to generate enough slack by a little judicial bending of the tube and brackets. Be wary of the tranny temp sensor you are hooking up to, as the body is soft stuff. Now would be a great time to hook in a true tranny temp gauge.

Mine just started leaking, too.

Where can one buy these lines? are they avail online somewhere?
