I am looking into getting lights on my ARB bumper. For those of you who have ARB bumpers, what lights have you put on yours? And how did you wire them?

I have Hella 500s on mine, and they fit just right with the Warn solenoid pack there.

They are nice lights, and you can get clear covers for them so you don't ever have to mess with those white covers that come with them.

I don't use all of Hella's wiring.
I use some, and custom make my harness's too.
I have two sets of the 500s now, and one set of tractor lamps out back, and I use the Toyota switch for them that you can get at any Toyota dealer.

Much better than the Hella switch that comes with them as it fits into your factory cutouts.

More info here on how I wire up all of my lights.

These lights are very bright, and not that expensive.
Under $70 most of the time for the set.

PIAA L-25/525-X H4 lamps I bought overseas (80w bulbs for an alleged 135/110w illumination...the driving lights are very bright [much brighter than my hella 65w xenon+30 H4's]). I'm using the harness included, but have the lo's wired to the factory Toyota fog light switch and the hi's wired directly to the headlamp hi's so all four hi's turn on/off together. After all, when you need your hi beams, you want as much light hitting the road as possible! :-) The Hella Ralleye 4000's won't fit (too big) in the stock holes. I don't use those metal, diamond-shaped mounting washers that came with the bar (allows one to slide the lamps in or out a bit) since it's easy to steal the lamps. Lamps are bolted through the bar using fender washers and the PIAA light locks.

Otherwise, I probably would have gone w/ the IPF 800MSR (the big, rectangular driving lights w/ 130w bulbs), the IPF ralleye lights, or the PIAA 80XT's.

Does anybody know if the IPF 900MSR would fit? I heard it doesn't but I just wanted to verify.

Thanks.

Leo,

Here is a pic of my Hella 4000's on my ARB. Like James says they will not fit in the factory location. You must drill a spot for them. I used the Hella wiring harness for the 4000's and used a Toyota switch in the dash.

I also have the Hella 500's on my ARB. Personally, I haven't been terribly thrilled with their long term durability. The white plastic covers are crap, I have broken many of them. Both of my lights have condensation/fog in them and one of them is even rusting on the inside. They are OK in the brightness, but not nearly as nice as my friend's KC Daylighters. But hey, what do you want for $60/pair, right? I think I will try KC's next time.

I got a pair of 150W KC Daylighters on mine and they live up to their name. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

After all my searching I ended up with some Lightforce lights. I have a Tacoma bumper so I have room for the 9.5" lights, but the 6.5" lights would work great. I also recommend the KC's, for the price they are great. They also have an awesome warranty.

I got mine at Central 4wd. There was no shipping on the lights (I was charged shipping for the filters). Central seems to have the best price on them. The filter price is about the same everywhere.
