Recently, I've been hearing more and more on people using iridium spark plugs. I've heard many pros and cons doing search on the net. As far as I know, only NGK and Denso make them. Anyone experienced with iridium plugs on their Toyota or others? Sounds great, except for price.

I slapped a set on @ $6 per plug. My conclusion after 20K is the iridium is the same as the platinum, platinum 2, platinum +4 and the ON SALE 99 cent autolights. I don't think I'll get over 40K on the iridiumÆs. $1.29 NGK's will give you everything the $6 iridium's will. Unless you need a special plug to run at a certain temperature for a special application don't bother paying more than $1.50 a plug.

I had the +4 Platinums and the first 2500 miles it was improvement. But then its been pretty expensive investment ever since. I would stick with NGK. Plugs get fowled and carbon'd.

Just remember to puta dab of Anti-seize on the threads...makes live a whole lot simpler when it comes to removing them later <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Hope all are well! Still got the T...

Body Damage is Cool
Don't know much about the iridium plugs, but I picked up a set of Bosch platinum 2's... Minor improvement, but most of it can probably be attributed to the worn condition of my old plugs.

platinum just takes longer to erode and widen the gap. that is the only value i see. i am not thrilled with changing plugs all teh time, so platinum sounds nice.
