Getting the Wheeling Fever
As a newbie, I thought I would share a couple of pics. I have kept the truck stock for several years as I wore down my tires. I recently put on a 3 inch body lift and 295/75/16 tires on the stock wheels. I had little trouble with the 3 inch lift except the shifters, which I am upgrading. (They still function without the rubber boots) I only lifted the bumpers two inches and had to fabricate/adjust the mounts for the TJM bull bar. All the lines and AC seem ok. Someday I will work more functional improvements $$.

Matt,

looks cool. I'm itchin for a TJM too, but I've heard of problems mounting the TJM with a body lift. Do you have any more details on the mounts that you fabricated? do you think that they would be able to handle the pull of a winch?

-thx,

-Paul

very nice. please send me pics of the adjustments for the TJM.

slandon@houston.rr.com

did you keep it strong enough to winch? by raising it, you increased the leverage the winch puts on the brackets. thanks.

The bumper is a TJM bull bar. Desert Rat is about the only place I could find them. The nerf bars are from 4 wheel parts wholesalers "Steel Industries". Nothing too special about them although they seemed a little thicker than others I've seen. I welded them on instead of drilling all the holes. They do not mount to the frame rail itself but to the cab mounts. To see a PDF file of how I raised the bumper, see the following temporary link. I don't know how strong it will be. If I get I winch, I may have to do a little more.

Thanks.

Thanks
