After breaking my driver's handle one day, I modded the driver's side by aligning both pieces and drilling a hole through them, put a big nail (trimmed to size) in there as a support piece. Expoxied the set together...guaranteed not to ever break again under load...unless someone smashes it with a sledgehammer or car wreck.

I originally tried to epoxy them together without the nail and it just re-snapped off. I knew then I needed some extra support from some steel/iron!

Haven't used the 2nd set that I got both (factory chrome driver and passenger handles) fer $7. I'm tempted to mod those out before I ever install them so it will have some decent support!

we just did trdjustin's on saturday. remove the two nuts at the master cylinder under the hood. remove the pedal. remove the bolt from teh inside that goes through the firewall. pull it out. add stiffening plate to engine bay side, and put it all back together. get the two little bushings as well.

Having just spent an hour under a friend's '95 T-100 trying to figure out whether he needed a new clutch, I am SO glad I found this before he brought it to the shop!! This sounds like it might be the problem - the clutch switch won't engage (the clutch pedal doesn't hit it right, we ended up taping it down); there's a popping noise from the area of the master cylinder when the clutch pedal is pressed and let out; and the transmission won't come out of or go into gear when the engine is running.

Thanks, all! Here's hoping...!

I have the same problem in my 95' T100. The truck is setting on 198k & I thought it may need an entire clutching system overhaul in the near future, but now I'm sure that its the bracket. Know any links or sites where I could find one w/ the price??? I find my local parts houses don't have alot of T100 parts available. I am still planning clutch work in the near future, probably a Centerforce Performance clutch. Any advice or info on these things would be much appreciated.

Dealer. If you need a dealer, call Gettel Toyota. Our friend there will not make you pay double as a walk in the way your local dealer might.

You will not realize any benefit from the centerforce clutch. Use a clutch kit from Aisin or Sachs instead. If properly installed it will stand up to all the torque that your engine can make.

As I recall, the bracket is held on with the two studs that poke through the firewall that the master cylinder mounts to. Is that what you are asking?
