Hi folks,

I just had my emissions checked on my 88 Trooper with the 2.6. There have been questions in the past regarding passing emissions with the Deltacam camshaft. I passed them this morning just fine. TWO disclaimers: I have the california emissions and a brand new cat.

It is reassuring to pass with a deltacam camshaft, calmini header, and a larger than stock exhaust.

Kevin

Good to hear. I passed on the first try in mine with the pacesetter header, 2.5" exhaust, new free-flow cat, delta cam and k&n. It did stall 3 times as he pulled it into the bay, but this was the first day that I had the truck on the road and the timing was way off.

It still passed though.

The fact that you passed CA emmissions is impressive!!

But, being a newbie, I wonder, why would this have any effect?

I guess what I'm really asking is what advantage is a Delta "massaged" cam and how could/does that affect emmissions?

Did you pass a California smog test or a Maryland smog test ? If you passed the California test in California, please tell us where

My truck has California emissions, which may or may not effect things now, but the test was in Maryland to Maryland specs.

YMMV,
