does anybody know if they put salt on the roads to melt ice in Virginia?

i'm looking to buy a 4runner located in virginia, but i don't want one with rust.

Yes. We get lotsa salt. The politicians can afford it.

They put more salt down on the road then they get snow....But generally its not an issue because they dont get snow THAT much, and if the owner is sensible theyll prolly hose it all off the next day before anything can happen.

Lots of Salt, lots of rust. But its like MX said, if the owner took care of it, it could be in great condition. Mine rusted in several spots and had it fixed.

Believe me, you'll KNOW if a vehicle has been in salt territory. But why risk it? You live in Texas. Get one locally, it's guaranteed to be salt-free.

True. Blackburg is a smaller college town, they were pretty salt free when I was there. But Northern VA outside DC is salted like sea-going rations.

Vermont Toy, ive seen worse salting thant that. Ive even seen it as bad as unable to see the lines on the road.

No, I bought my truck in VA, it just didn't have a lot of rust. More than other places but not TOO much...
