Getting the Wheeling Fever
Can anyone tell me how to get to the alarm brain on a 2001 Tundra? I was able to get to the glass breakage sensor control, but can't see the main control unit (ECU). Its supposed to be on the left under the dash?

How about under the drivers seat? Just a guess...

It is not under the seat. Toyota service said under dash on left side, but wouldn't tell me what all I had to remove to get to it. I removed lower part of dash, under sterring wheel, but could not locate it

Maybe under the kick-panel then? On my truck I think the cruise control brain is there and a fuse panel.

Otherwise maybe take your truck to the stealer for an oil change and while you're there grab one of the techs and make them show you exactly where its at...

FWIW, I'd bet its somewhere that is fairly easy to get to since it is optional equipment that has to be installed at the dealership.

I found it! It is up under the dash to the right and above the steering wheel shaft. (Wrapped in gray sponge- [color:"black"] foam) You have to take the bottom panel of the dash off, 4 bolts, and pull out the air duct. Pretty easy when you know where it is. [color:"blue"]
