Getting the Wheeling Fever
I'm looking to upgrade and want to know which shocks would be the best choice. I want better road handling and better performance off road too.
Here's a link I found for the ranchos that also has the remote (in cab) control for them.

I'm still waiting for the OME catolog to arrive.

Doesn't the '94 SR have the adjustable shocks from the factory? If so, I'm not so sure the Rancho 9000s or OME's would be an upgrade. Most Gen II folks on the board are really happy with the stock setup on the SR. Are you having trouble with the existing shocks? I'm a Gen I guy for now so hopefully a Gen IIer will jump in here.

I am in a 96 sr and the adjustable shocks seem to be great, I will be able to test them more in a couple more weeks when I go to Browns camp to wheel it.

My GenII SR didn't come with the factory 3 way adjustible shocks. I have 117K on the originals. So that's why I was looking at possible upgrading. I'm the 2nd owner.
I seem to have lots of sway in corners and want to know if shocks will help that. The tires I bought help.

Do you have the 9000's adjustable?

I messed up the link in the first post. Here it is:

Is this a good deal?

I am still running the stock adjustable shocks, I am right at 135k when I baught the vehicle last week I noticed that it swayed a bit but as soon as I switched the shocks off of the highway setting they were great, they still seem to be very responsive and handle bumps well. I havn't gotten it off road yet but that is coming soon.

oh yeah just another couple cents on the rancho vs OME shocks. last week the same question came up and I will say the same thing I did there. I have a couple friends who had rancho shocks when they first lifted their trucks, they lasted about a week each, after three sets they switched over to OME and no problems since this was 2 years ago.

I've had the Emus on for a couple months now. Love 'em!

Went jumping over at my friends llama farm the other week. Bystandards said I launched the truck 3-4' in the air and 1-1.5 car lengths long before crashing down. And I DO MEAN CRASHING - bounced at least 3x before gaining conrol again. did that 3 or 4 times then drove 1000mi back to Louisiana. I hate to think what the results would've been if I hadn't had the Emus on there. I'm happy

94Monty, can't comment on 9000s vs OME, though I'm glad the question has been posed as I will be looking in the future myself. I have seen the 9000s for $60+ each and $150 for the remote controller. That's obviously some $80 less for the setup...

I've had KYB, OME and ProComp. The KYB's were by far the best. Did not like the ProComps at all, too soft. I've had the OME's for a little over a year. They are "ok" but one of them has started to leak. The only reason I'm not running KYB's now is that I could not get them long enough.
