I just pulled my open 4.88 and installed my e-locker 4.88 <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />. When I bought the open diff off of this board, the seller said they were precision gear.
The first mark on the ring gear is a "v" with a wreath around it.
The second mark is "T4.88" (toyota 4.88 I assume)
The last mark is an upper case "M" with a circle around it.
Thanx in advance for the help.

I don't imagine they are Genuine Gear and since they are the only ones with a really bad rep I wouldn't worry about it. I scratched my head a whole bunch but couldn't think of any major brands that start with either M or V, maybe some of the pirates would know, but search real good before you ask ;-)

Anyone else want to chime in or maybe offer up a link before I let this post die?

They're not Genuine, Yukon, or Superior... if i remember correctly. I've run those 3 (the superior after breaking the crappy genuines) and I'm pretty sure it's none of those. As long as they're not genuine, you're they'll be all right, IMO.

For some reason, that logo makes me think "motive gear"... but I cant tell you what I'm basing that on. All I can tell you is they're CERTAINLY not genuine or yukon. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
