Yup, that baby's almost empty. I searched but found nothing. How do I fix it and what do I fill it with?

Most likely, the thin plastic diaphram on the back of the bubble needs to be repaired or replaced. I just put a layer of silicone sealant all over the back of mine, but other people have come up with other solutions (such as cutting out a new thin plastic diaphram from household stuff).

For slow responsiveness: fill with glycerin
For quick responsiveness: fill with mineral oil

A caution on the glycerin substitution: That's what I used when I redid mine over the winter and I think it's starting to make the paint on the indicator dial bubble up. If I had to do it again, I'd go with mineral oil.

I'm surprised a search turned up nothing. Must be the new system. This is a regularly posted topic.

I repaired mine also. After totally uninstalling it, I placed it face down siliconed the entire thin plastic back. After it was totally dry I made a small hole and filled it with baby oil(mineral oil) then resiliconed the hole. Works great now.

While we are on this subject, I was wondering if the exact amount of fluid in the inclinometer affects the accuracy of the guage. While I don't really count it that much, mine is only 5/8 full, which is just a little bit above the needle in the middle. Is mine too low, or should I just leave it the way it is? Any ideas? Is it really difficult to take apart and very delicate or easily damaged? It moves freely and appears to operate normally, but I know it is low on fluid and was wondering if it was worth it to attempt to refill it.

Mine did the same thing. Let me see if I can find the extras that I cut out of some left over plastic sheeting. I took the old one off, drilled a SMALL hole near the top, epoxied the replacement cover on (epoxy ONLY on the outside) and refilled it with glycerin from the drug store. It was very slow going and a bit on the messy side but it was over 8 months ago and it still looks good and no leaks. E-mail me your address and I'll send you one of the extra ones.
