OK here is my problem. I am in San Diego. My car is registered in AZ. My registration expires on the 31st . No EGR valve no pass emissions no can drive car, extra fee for registering car when its fixed, you get the picture. I tried 3 Stealers in San Diego, no luck.
Any Ideas?

I'm by Costa Mesa and the dealer parts outlet. Hell I'm giving out the number anyway, call me and We'll chat and see if I can get your part. (714)809-8849. Did you try The Parts Bin dot com?

Eric,

How can they do that, that is total crap. The non cali trucks never came with an EGR. I dont see how they can force a federal smog legal truck, to conform to CA standards if not bought in the state.

Only the Cali trucks had egr, something is fishy about that, it really doesnt seem legal. I know out of state drivers cant be forced to conform to out of state code. If you truck doesnt need mudflaps in Iowa, you dont need them in NJ. I <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Humm. My car already has an EGR valve but its coding as bad. There is nothing under the hood that says itÆs a CA vehicle; however it does say that the emissions meet federal EPA standards.
Here is the rest of the story. I moved to CA about 4 months ago, it looks likes my company is going to transfer me back to PHX. (DonÆt really want to leave here) so I am maintaining my AZ registration which expires on Sunday. The bad news is that I have to have a smog check for the AZ registration, but canÆt do it until I replace the valve. None of the dealers here have any, the ironic thing is that within 1000 miles or so the only 2 dealers that have any are located in Phoenix, weird.
So do any other GEN II owners outside of CA have EGR valves?

I may be wrong, but I know the 3.0 12v doesnt have them from 92-94. They might have picked them up for the 3.5 and the 24v 3.0. I do know that my 93 does not have egr, and others I have looked at are the same way.

Doug and Eric,

I've done my good deeds for the day, I think I'll pick up a lottery ticket on the way home and see if any of that karma rubbed off.

Doug, have a safe trip and I hope the redneck alignment worked out. Get your grades up and study hard for the LSAT, and we'll talk law school sometime.

Eric, glad I could help, and at least I learned there's no more will call at the Mitsu parts wherehouse. Have fun in the heat, and I'm bummed I won't get to check out your rig in person unless I head back to AZ (no thanks).

Take care,

Jim
