Hey guys I know a lot of you have the TRD supercharger on your trucks and wanted to know if they're worth the money. I ran into a chance to get one installed by toyota with all the necessary upgrades for very cheap and if it's worth it exhaust and line-x will go on hold for sure. Any input on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Does the SuperCharger waste more gas or what are the disadvantages beside the advantage of having more power. This is some info I found for the SuperCharger and Exaust a couple of days ago. I can't remember where I got it from but will post the site once I find it.

TRD Supercharger
Model Year:
Boost the performance of your Toyota truck without compromising your budget or vehicle warranty, with a TRD Supercharger. Engineered for trucks with the 3.4L V6 engine, our supercharger delivers a significant power increase across a broad range of RPM, is emissions legal in all 50 dates and packaged with an unprecedented aftermarket warranty. The Basics A supercharger is essentially an air pump, mechanically driven by the engineÆs crankshaft and belts, that compresses outside air and channels it into the engineÆs intake ports. This additional volume of air, when combined with more fuel, gives you a substantial increase in horsepower and torque. The effect of this increased ôboostö is instantaneous and dramatic, providing much-improved acceleration even at low RPM. The lag between pushed pedal and acceleration, common in turbochargers is non-existent. Unlike turbochargers, superchargers do not create a virtual oven in your engine bay, and no external oil lubrication is required. The lubed-for-life supercharger is a sealed unit requiring no additional lubrication. The Next Generation The new, second generation TRD Supercharger for the 3.4L Toyota engine is a work of art and technical marvel at the same time. It incorporates a host of improvements including: A proprietary TRD intake manifold offering a lighter, more compact, well-integrated system that eliminates the possibility of leaks and increases overall system efficiency. No modification to the fuel delivery system or ECU is required, which means that your engine will benefit from all the protection provided by the standard ECU, including over-rev and detonation sensing. The second-generation unit also sits lower in the engine compartment, which provides increased hood clearance. It incorporates a new internal bypass system that reduces part count and simplifies installation. The TRD Supercharger requires the use of premium, unleaded fuel to maintain performance and preserve its warranty.

IT does take prem gas. and gas is about the same if you don't hit the gas with your heavy foot to often. downside would be speeding tickets!! your at 50 before you can even notice. and if you don't use the right fuel your good friend ping will follow. redtoy92

The difference is very noticable.. When you stomp on it.. the truck jumps. I've found the sweet spot tends to be at 4,000rpms.. the truck really moves at that point. You'll find 2nd and 3rd gear will be your favorites at least for me they are.
