I moved my 12 foot Jon Boat many times with the short bed camper capped T100.
Boat goes in stern first and upright - just drop the tailgate, wedge a 3-4 foot piece of 2x4 or 4x4 under the boat and across the gate, add 2 straps from the bow back to the bumper/hitch/bed tiedowns.
The real key is to put some ballast (like your trolling motor battery, etc.) in the stern area so the rear of the boat doesn't want to tip up. Add a 3rd strap across the stern between the front bed tiedowns and away you go!
I move my 4 x 16 foot boat dock with the short bed, but now I have a hitch mounted extended support arm (made for a canoe, etc.)
Can't beat the T!

Ed, YOU BASSTURD! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/bird.gif" alt="" />
Perp, LOL! I wonder how many will get that. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
The setup I have shown there is actually not bad. The straps pull the rear of the boat into the head of my bed, and trap it. I also throw the trolling motor and battery back there as well, like Moser said.
And hey, this way I don't have to register and license a trailer. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

...minus the woosie 3.0L and standard cab, of course. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />
I hit my favorite fishing hole last night, but it's too far off the beaten path to bring the boat on the trailer, and it's not worth fishing without the boat... so I just made due. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
Got into some hogs. Biggest was 4lbs. Not bad for Illinois Bass. Great time! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Funny what some folks consider a "Hog". Where I fish, the great Pacific Ocean, a fish has to be over twenty pounds before we consider it a hog. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />

20 lbs, huh. That's a chicken. We gotta pack a .44 when we go halibut fishing. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" />
Nice fish, Chem. Y' ever try them bad boys on a flyrod?

Yeah? Well, we don't have too many oceans here in Illinois. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> Adam, never caught a bass on a flyrod, but I could imagine how huge it would feel on the end. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

I picked up a flyrod for the first time 12 years ago. I hardly fish any other way any more. On the ocean is really the only place I soak bait or sling lures these days. You do get a lot better fight, and for my experience, I think you catch more fish on a fly. A 7/8 weight, a few spun deerhair mice, and you might end up a convert too.
Anyhow, what was the point of this? Ts? Fishing? We just hoist our Old Town (17') up to the roof on some foam blocks and secure it down by the bed. Have yet to dent the roof, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
