75W90 or 80W90 GL4 in the tranny, GL5 in the diffs, your choice in the tcase. I really like Redline MT-90 in the tranny, it seems to be healing my synchros somewhat with time. Or I am shifting slower, one of the two. This, of course, after I procured a new tranny... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Ok stupid question time, what does GL stand for? (gear lube?) And I would like to run the redline, but no one around here carrys it, I need it this weekend, and money is an issue right now.
"your choice in the tcase" So 80-90 would be fine?

Yup. I understand Summit carries Redline. I would do it all and put off the tranny fluid till I had the Redline, its that good. And when they tell you "GL5 is fine for the tranny, Toyota even says so" thank them and walk away.

Unless you like fighting your stick when trying to get it to move and interlock certain things DO NOT USE GL5 IN THE TRANNY!! Okay...Im better now. ~Darin <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" />

I bought my Redline at myoilshop.com. Cheaper prices to begin w/ and I found a code on an oil forum that gets you an extra 10% off. 675421 in the dealer code box. I've used this twice (last time in Jan.). Was told they don't mind its use and I didn't have any problems using it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I think GL5 has antifoaming agents for the diffs.

OK ok, ill get the redline, jezz cant a guy be cheap anymore. If you guys say its that good then I belive you. But if im getting the redline, im putting it in everything. Im not one to go half a$$ed. So my new questions are this...
If I run MT-90 in the trans ant t-case how many quarts will I need?
Im going to run the redline heavyweight shockproof in the diffs. How many quarts will I need?
There is no where within 30 miles of me that has the redline so, Im ordering the stuff online so I need to know how much I need to order....thanks 4 the info guys <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />....John

Look in your Owner's manual, it has the grades, weights and quantities of oil needed or follow the link off my page I posted earlier which will take you to the fluid data I extracted from my '85 Owner's Manual ( direct link here).
