I haven't installed a water pump in about 8 or 9 years and back then it was on small block Chevrolet's. Is there anything I need to be aware of? I just assumed it's a straight forward pull and install. Just making sure there isn't anything specific that I need to do on the 22RE. Coat both sides of the water pump gasket lightly with sealer. Don't remove the fan belt until you remove the bolts that attach the fan to the pump. Much easier breakin them loose. Also remember which water pump bolts go where, some are longer then others. And do not over-tighten them they will strip, just snug them up.
