Sorry for the dumb question, but I lost my Haynes in the recent move. I haven't installed a water pump in about 8 or 9 years and back then it was on small block Chevrolet's. Is there anything I need to be aware of? I just assumed it's a straight forward pull and install. Just making sure there isn't anything specific that I need to do on the 22RE. Thanks!

Just dont over torque the bolts and nuts on re-install, they snap and strip easy. Coat both sides of the water pump gasket lightly with sealer. Pretty straight forward job. ~Darin

It's pretty straight forward. Don't remove the fan belt until you remove the bolts that attach the fan to the pump. Much easier breakin them loose. Also remember which water pump bolts go where, some are longer then others. And do not over-tighten them they will strip, just snug them up.
Have fun,
mike
