got the new clutch in, but put in gear and let it out and there was nothing, still no clutch, my friend mentioned that we have to legthen the rod in the slave cylinder, I thought you could just adjust it, but he said its hydralic so there is no adjustment.....I need help bad.....what to do, look for and so on <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

A little more info would be nice. Was the engine running when you put it in gear? Do you feel pedal when you press the clutch? Is the transmission attached? Driveshaft?

yes, engine running, everything attached, pedal stiff but does not engage. Now after putting the d44 from matt, they tell me when they rolled the truck they heard clicking coming from the rear end, im going to pull the diff plate to see if anything wrong, they tell me that the slave cylinder rod is to short and not moving the clutch fork enough so we have make it longer, I have never heard of this so someone help me, we started on the truch thurs, its now sunday and its not done, still no clutch

Let's reason this out. You are saying that with the clutch pedal out, there is no engagement. Right? The slave cylinder extends to disengage the clutch. If the slave cylinder did not have enough throw, it would cause the clutch to not disengage and your rig would take off as it is started. Not the other way around.

The 3.2 clutch is a pull-type, not pull. This means the throwout bearing pulls on the clutch pressure plate diaphragm, instead of pushing on it. I know it has caused clutch install problems in the past. Most likely, you did not get the throwout bearing locked into the pressure plate. Sadly, whatever it is probably means that the tranny is going to have to be dropped, again.

Whatever you do, do not screw with the slave cylinder. It worked before and therefore, it should work again without crazy modifications.
